Ward 6 Democrats endorse Richard Harding

The Cambridge Ward 6 Democratic Committee announces its endorsements in the 2011 Cambridge municipal elections.

Endorsed for election to the City Council are David Maher, Sam Seidel, Denise Simmons, Minka van Beuzekom and Larry Ward. For School Committee, the ward’s endorsements went to Richard Harding, Marc McGovern, Patty Nolan and Nancy Tauber. Nine city councilors and six School Committee members will be elected in the Nov. 3 municipal election. The mayor, who will be elected by the next City Council from among its members after the council’s inauguration in January, will serve as the seventh member and chairman of the School Committee.

The Cambridge Ward 6 Democratic Committee, representing the Democratic Party in Mid-Cambridge east of Harvard Yard, regularly issues endorsements in state and municipal elections.

The Ward 6 Democratic Committee meets monthly, generally on the third or fourth Tuesday, for business meetings, often including a guest speaker or other program. Visitors are always welcome and applications for associate membership on the committee can be entertained at any meeting. The next meeting is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 15.
